Weaving a Tapestry of Compassion, Commerce and Community

Welcome
The Challenges of Poverty and Pain

C3 Initiatives' mission is to provide help and support to vulnerable people - disabled Veterans, chronic pain and terminally ill patients, low-income families, minorities, at-risk youth, substance abusers - people trapped in poverty and hopelessness because of physical, emotional or social challenges.

We serve as an advocate, a helping hand and a guide for those seeking to improve the quality of their lives. We are a "family of choice" for those who find themselves alone in the world.

C3 is a membership based non-profit striving to empower and enrich the lives of our members through service, ownership, entrepreneurial initiatives and civic involvement. We want them to fully participate in life and their community; to lead a life independent of shelters and institutions.

Membership is a commitment to change our Nation - one person, one business, one neighborhood at a time.

Matt and Cheryl walked into C3 one afternoon looking for help with Matt's VA benefits. While meeting with our Vet Rep, he mentioned that his family was homeless. They were staying in a motel and almost at the end of the small severance package he received when he was "downsized" from his computer job. In two days they would be living on the streets with their daughter.

When they left C3 that day they had food and supplies from the food bank and the wheels had been set in motion to help Matt with his benefits. Thanks to information Cheryl gave to her C3 Inlife counselor about her job skills, we were able to introduce Cheryl to an elderly C3 Member who needed daily assistance to continue living in her home. This elderly Member had a two-bedroom apartment attached to her home that she offered in exchange for meal preparation, cleaning, and Matt's handyman talents.

Matt has recently found a new job in IT and is also the local "computer wizard" in their neighborhood. Cheryl continues to care for their elderly friend with their daughters assistance. Their daughter enjoys working with the elderly and is considering training to be a Certified Nursing Assistant in C3's planned home health care program.

Your donations of money, cars, and food have made it possible to provide over 9,300 hours of direct services to people in need and aid to over 1,000 individuals - emergency food and assistance to families and disabled Veterans.

You made it possible to provide Christmas gifts for Native American children and helped local organizations for the disabled provide better services for their members.

With your help we will accomplish even more. Our Goal is to break ground on a new assisted and independent living facility which will provide long-term housing. The plans are in place. This "Green" building will be energy independent, relying on solar and wind power, using state-of-the-art, environmentally conscious building techniques and materials. Please help us build a home for our Veterans.
